Merino Supersoft nominated for the Volvo Sports Design Award
Off into the second phase for ORTOVOX Merino supersoft. Our success has proved us right. No other range within the Merino sports underwear provides a fibre combination as soft as that of supersoft. How is this possible? The finer the fibre the less noticeable it is on the skin. ORTOVOX has developed a technique in which coarse fibres are singled out and only the finest fibres are woven into a thread. However, it is the final combination with Lenzing Modal which turns the yarn into an incredibly skin friendly material. Lenzing Modal is a natural fibre derived from sustainably farmed beech and the cellulose extracted from these trees normally finds its way into the fashion capitals of Europe. When it came to testing the product, it was not just independent testers that decided on Merino Supersoft being the softest product on the market but also the jury of the Eco Design award. In 2008, based on its sustainable production as well as eco conscious and considerate use of raw materials, the Merino Supersoft by ORTOVOX was nominated the ECO Design Award. A celebration merging the most functional material with the softest fibre around. Alongside long and short sleeves and long pants, ORTOVOX has now added a long sleeve garment with zipper to its range. Colours have been adjusted to meet market demands and now comprise the following: black raven, blue reef, lilac breeze, red berry and green jade. Available from autumn 2009 onwards in all specialist sport shops.
